NextPVR is closed source, but free for personal use.

This project represents thousands of hours of software development, in a very complex field. The software is composed of device management,  scanning, recording and playback components, user interface elements and a plugin framework.

These software components support the wide range of systems used world wide in broadcast television, including DVB-S/S2, DVB-C, DVB-T, ATSC, QAM, Analog PAL/NTSC, and support all broadcast codecs including MPEG2, H.264, MPEG1LayerII, AC3, E-AC3, HE-AAC. Closed Captions and DVB Subtitles are also supported.

The software components, and the whole application (or customized versions of it), are available for licensing by companies interested in supplying their own TV solutions. Licensing these components would allow your company to get solutions to market quicker, saving your company a large amount of development time from specialised development resources.
