!! Renderers
These options allow you to pick a renderer (software mechanism or physical device) to use for video and audio. If the default option works for you, itís best to leave as is. If you get error messages or do not see video or hear audio, work your way down the list, or try changing the decoders.

!!! Video Renderer
These options allow you to set the rendering systems used by NextPVR to play video. If the default option works for you, itís best to leave as is. If you get error messages or do not see video or hear audio, work your way down the list, or try changing the decoders.

Supported renderers are:

EVR, a newer video renderer introduced in Windows Vista, with slightly better colour and support for the next version of hardware acceleration (DXVA2) for H.264 etc. It was also made available on Windows XP with >net 3.5, but lacks the hardware acceleration features on XP.

VMR9 stands for Video Mixing Renderer uses Direct3D 9.x to control the display hardware (graphics card).

VMR7 is an older version of VMR9.

!!!! Overlay
The precursor to the newer DirectShow video renderers, Overlay uses less system resources, and allows for slightly under powered machines to still run a stable video playback. With Overlay you may speed things up, but you may lose the ability to change the Aspect Ratio during video playback and transparency effects used on the OSD.

!!! Audio Renderer
Set the audio renderer (device) to use from the list. It is recommended to leave this as 'Default', which means it will use whatever the Windows' default audio renderer is.

!! Decoders
These options allow you to set the decoder (codec) used by NextPVR to play audio visual content.

!!! MPEG2 Video
Set the decoder to use for MPEG2 Video playback.

!!! AC3 Audio
Set the decoder to use for AC3 Audio playback.

!! DVD Drive
Set the drive to use for DVD playback. Can be left as AUTO unless you have multiple DVD drives.

!! Daemon Tools ISO Support
If you have a copy of Daemon Tools installed, it can be used by NextPVR to mount .ISO disk images ready playback. This allows you to directly play DVDs you've archived to your hard disk from the Videos screen.

!!!! Daemon .EXE
Set the location of the Daemon Tools exe.

!!!! Daemon Tools Drive
Specify the Drive letter Daemon Tools will use to mount the image.
